BREAKING NEWS!

4/9/10...  VYTF Executive Committee reconfirms their commitment to safety... will require a minimum of 2 coaches (i.e.  Head Coach/ Assistant Head Coach) to be CPR/ First Aid Certified.

Furthermore, all Head Coaches will be required to have a Live Scan background check for the 2010 Season... the State of California website lists several Live Scan locations for Tulare County.

3/30/10...  On-Site signups at the Visalia Mall Food Court... each Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm.  Additional signup locations will be announced as details become available.

3/4/10...  Annual Dinner w/ Varsity High School Football Coaches, Athletic Directors, and VUSD Representative... review prior season, share thoughts for upcoming season, re-confirm our partnership and common goals for 2010.

1/29/10...  VYTF Board approves change to allow  Bantam Division to compete in All-Valley League.

Our primary goal of this change is to increase the level of competition for our players, since we will no longer be limited to competition with just our own Bantam teams.

The thought is... in an effort to develop the very best football players for our community High School programs, each of the VYTF Divisions will benefit as the kids move up... a better coached and experienced Bantam Division will benefit our Peewee Division, which will in-turn benefit our Junior Division, etc.

9/9/09...  VYTF Board creates 2 new Commissioner positions and changes title to District Commissioner.  The change aligns their responsibilities to assist with teams in each of the 4 Visalia High School Districts rather than  VYTF Divisions.

In addition, 4 new District Coordinator positions were created to assist District Commissioners, Team Moms, and further enhance information both to and from the VYTF Board.

Anyone interested in these open positions are asked to fill out and submit a Volunteer Application to the VYTF Board for consideration.

9/3/09...   Picture Day - Saturday September 26th, schedules will be sent to all Coaches and Team Moms.

7/20/09...   VYTF would like to thank Buckman-Mitchell, Inc. (Financial & Insurance Services) for their generous donation to our league this year, which went to sponsor 12 players who may have otherwise not been able to participate.  We appreciate their support and look forward to future opportunities to work together to better our community.

7/16/09...  We regret to have to announce, but due to light signups, it will not be possible to fill a Senior Blazer team for the 2009 Season.

We had been monitoring signups levels and had considered several scenarios in an effort to meet the minimum team roster size by the start of player conditioning and official season kickoff next week.

We apologize for any confusion or inconveniences, and appreciate everyone's understanding as we make the necessary adjustments.

It is our intention to fill the Senior Blazer team next year for the 2010 Season, and with everyone's support and involvement starting early next year, we are confident that we can return to four Senior Division teams and continue to meet our goal of a strong alliance with the Visalia High School Football programs.
